Micro fat injections allow you to enhance your facial features using your own fat cells. This can help to restore facial volume, along with providing the slimming benefit of liposuction. Dr. Weider offers micro fat injections to those in Dallas, TX who want a natural-looking facial rejuvenation.

What are Micro Fat Injections?

Micro Fat Injection is a form of fat grafting in which very small syringes of one’s own fat obtained with liposuction are used to augment and enhance delicate areas of the face and body. While this procedure is not new, improvements in equipment and technique have made it more reliable with a more predictable and longer lasting result. While the most commonly used area for micro fat transfer is the face, it is also valuable for the correction of small contour irregularities in other areas of the body.

"Very compassionate, a very good listener! The first surgeon to listen to me and my specific wants without telling me what he thinks I need. (i.e. double d’s!) Staff is friendly and very helpful. Could not ask for better overall treatment or results. Highly recommend!!!!" Read More >

Who can Benefit from Micro Fat Injections?

As we age, there is atrophy of the soft tissues of the face as well as of the bone (facial skeleton). While facelifts and other skin tightening procedures play an important role in reversing the signs of aging, filling the soft tissues is often just as important to regain a more youthful appearance. This can be done with many substances, but fat is the most versatile and the longest lasting. It can be used to fill out the cheeks, hollows below the eyes, temples, brow area, and the lips. The jawline can also be accentuated. An added benefit is that fat transfer to the face often improves the appearance of the overlying skin. To be a successful candidate for micro fat injections, you must have enough excess fat elsewhere on the body.

Micro Fat Injection Surgery

To obtain the fat needed for fat injections, liposuction is first performed in other areas of the body such as the abdomen, thighs, or buttocks. This involves the use of tiny incisions where a cannula will be inserted, breaking up and removing the fat cells. These fat cells are then processed and prepared for placement. Dr. Weider will then use these fat cells for your facial injections. A small amount of fat will be placed into facial wrinkles or folds, or directly into areas of the face that have lost volume in order to restore fullness.

Aftercare for Micro Fat Injections

After micro fat injection, you can expect some mild swelling and bruising at the facial injection sites, however, most of your recovery will involve the area treated with liposuction. You can expect swelling, bruising, and some discomfort in this area for the first few days. The results of your micro fat injections will be immediately noticeable, with youthful-looking facial volume. Once you have healed from liposuction, you can enjoy a slimmer contour. The results of micro fat injections are usually long-lasting, however touch-up sessions may be necessary.
