Botox® Cosmetic

Not all signs of aging require a surgical procedure. Dr. Weider offers a number of nonsurgical solutions, including neuromodulators like Botox, to correct fine lines and wrinkles with no downtime required. Botox® is a highly popular cosmetic procedure in the Dallas, TX area.

What is Botox® Cosmetic?

Botox® Cosmetic is an injectable neuromodulator, composed of Botulinum toxin, which works by temporarily preventing the facial muscles from contracting, resulting in fewer lines and wrinkles. The chemical compound is similar to other injectable neuromodulators like Xeomin and Dysport. Botox® Cosmetic is highly popular for addressing fine lines and wrinkles but has also shown to have medical benefits like reducing underarm sweat (hyperhidrosis) and relieving migraines and TMJ related facial pain.

Who can Benefit from Botox® Cosmetic?

Both men and women in the Dallas, TX area can achieve more youthful looking skin with Botox® Cosmetic from Dr. Weider. If you experience dynamic wrinkles, those that are present or worsened by facial expressions, Botox® Cosmetic can benefit you. However, if your lines and wrinkles are present even when the face is relaxed, you may benefit more from a different treatment like dermal fillers. Botox® Cosmetic has been shown to reduce these common wrinkles:

  • Crow’s feet in the outer corners of the eyes
  • Frown lines between the brows
  • Forehead lines

Many patients choose Botox® Cosmetic to fight these signs of aging once they occur, while others believe Botox® Cosmetic can be used to prevent these types of wrinkles from forming or worsening. Botox® Cosmetic can also be used to help maintain the results of a past procedure such as a facelift or brow lift. Dr. Weider can help you determine if Botox® Cosmetic is right for you and customize your anti-aging treatment plan.

The Botox® Cosmetic Treatment

The Botox® Cosmetic treatment process is quick and relatively comfortable. If you are worried about pain during the injection process, Dr. Weider can apply a topical numbing cream to the area ahead of time. He will then map out the injection points, located around the eyes, brows, and forehead. A skilled injector like Dr. Weider knows exactly where to place Botox® Cosmetic so that only wrinkle-causing muscles are affected. Using a thin needle, a small amount of Botox® Cosmetic will be placed under the skin. This process takes about 15 minutes to complete.
