What is a Brow Lift?
A brow lift is a surgical procedure to address the upper face including the brows and forehead. Dr. Weider performs brow lifts, also known as a forehead lift, for women and men who desire a more youthful appearance. Brow lifts are also indicated for people who feel like they look tired due to heavy brows. During your consultation with Dr. Weider, he will review your concerns and perform a thorough examination of the area. He will then formulate a treatment plan to best achieve your goals. You will learn about the brow lift procedure, including:
- The technique involved in the procedure
- How skin elasticity may affect the procedure
- Expected results
- Facility choices such as our fully accredited surgical facility
- Guidelines to reduce the risk of complications following brow lift surgery
- Costs for brow lift surgery, including fees associated with anesthesia and the facility of choice

Who can Benefit from a Brow Lift?
Both women and men interested in a brow lift select Dr. Weider to improve the most visible signs of aging to the forehead, brow and upper eyelids by:
- Significantly reducing the appearance of wrinkles caused by movement of the forehead
- Improving the appearance of the eyebrows and upper eyelids
- Reducing the appearance of hooded eyebrows
- Improving facial lines between the brows
While a brow lift can effectively treat aging in the upper face, midface volume loss might require a different procedure such as a facelift or injection of fillers. Dr. Weider will determine if you are a candidate for a brow lift after a consultation in Dallas, TX.
Brow Lift Surgery
Dr. Weider performs the brow lift procedure to smooth underlying facial muscles and tighten forehead skin. The time required for brow lift surgery may be two or more hours, depending on the extent of wrinkles and lines as well as the technique used. During brow lift surgery, Dr. Weider will use general anesthesia. The incision can be placed at or behind the hairline depending upon which is best for the individual. Finally, he may trim excess skin before placing staples or sutures at the incision locations to hold the repositioned skin and tissue in place.
Aftercare for Brow Lift
Dr. Weider will see you within the first few days following the procedure to help ensure a smooth recovery. You will be provided with guidelines for activity restrictions and medications to ease discomfort. As with all medical procedures, complications may occur during or after the procedure. The guidelines that Dr. Weider provides help to reduce the risk of complications. Smokers will be advised to stop for several weeks before and after surgery, as smoking increases the risk of poor wound healing. You may experience swelling, bruising, bleeding and numbness following surgery which typically subside over time. Complications are rare but may occur. Most people return to work within one week following the procedure.
In most patients, the brow lift procedure will provide facial rejuvenation for many years to come, although the longevity of the brow lift may be affected by aging, weight changes, medical conditions, and certain drugs.
