Chin Implants

A chin implant can improve your profile and restore balance to your face.  It is often performed in conjunction with other procedures such as facial liposuction, a facelift, or rhinoplasty in order to create a beautiful look that can boost self-confidence.

Candidates for a chin implant (chin augmentation) have a small chin (microgenia) but have a normal or near normal dental bite (occlusion).  Dr. Weider will discuss your goals and review expected results with you during your consultation.

PROCEDURE AND RECOVERY

Placement of a chin implant takes 1 to 2 hours and is performed under general anesthesia.  An incision is made either in the mouth or under the chin, and the chin implant is carefully positioned next to the bone.  The incision is then closed.  The recovery period lasts approximately one week, but you may experience some soreness and swelling for several weeks.
