The Brow Lift Surgery

Dallas brow lift expert Dr. Weider performs the brow lift procedure to smooth underlying facial muscle and tighten skin. The time required for brow lift surgery may be two or more hours, depending on the extent of wrinkles and lines as well as the technique used. Dr. Weider performs both an open as well as an endoscopic brow lift. The decision as to which one will be best for you is made during the consultation. During brow lift surgery, Dr. Weider will use general anesthesia to perform the procedure. If an open technique is used, he will create an incision behind the hairline surrounding the forehead to lift the forehead area. Finally, he may trim excess skin before placing staples or sutures at the incision locations to hold the repositioned skin and tissue in place.

Aftercare for Brow Lift

Dr. Weider will see you in the days following the procedure to help ensure a smooth recovery. You will be provided with guidelines for activity restrictions and discomfort management, including medications to ease discomfort. As with all medical procedures, complications may occur during or after the procedure. The guidelines that Dr. Weider provides help to reduce the risk of complications. Smokers will be advised to quit for several weeks before and after surgery, as smoking increases the risk of poor wound healing. You may experience swelling, bruising, bleeding and numbness following surgery which subsides over time. Complications are rare, but may occur. Dr. Weider can usually manage complications should one arise. Most people return to work within one week following the procedure.

The results of the procedure will be immediately evident and the results may last a lifetime. The longevity of the results may be affected by aging, weight changes, medical conditions and certain drugs. In most patients, the brow lift procedure will provide facial rejuvenation for many years to come.
