Injectables and Facial Fillers
Facial rejuvenation through the Botox® injectable and facial fillers such as Juvederm and Radiesse offers immediate reliable results for women and men. Injectables may be used to prevent and treat wrinkles in all stages of aging. One or more fillers may be used to achieve a fully satisfactory result. The advantages associated with injectables are that the results are immediate and no recovery period is required. Though the results are temporary, people usually do not mind returning for maintenance treatment over time.
Dr. Weider has selected particular brands of injectables because of their superiority. Since injectable procedures are highly technique driven, Dr. Weider performs injectible treatments personally to ensure accurate and reliable results.
Collagen Substitutes
Collagen: Collagen injections may be used to improve frown lines, "crow's feet" and nasolabial folds or smile lines. However, the use of Collagen has decreased as more advanced facial fillers have been introduced to the public. Collagen fillers may contain human collagen such as found in CosmoDerm or Cosmoplast. There are also cow (bovine) based collagen fillers such as Zyderm or Zyplast. The results of collagen may be inconsistent, lasting for three or more months.
Juvederm
Juvederm: Juvederm may fill thin lips, certain surface wrinkles, concave scars and facial creases such as nasolabial folds. Dr. Weider uses Juvederm because of its superior softness and longevity when compared to other facial fillers. Juvederm is comprised of Hyaluronic Acid, which also naturally exists in the body. The results of Juvederm last for 6 months or more.
Radiesse
Radiesse: Radiesse may fill facial creases such as nasolabial folds (smile lines). Dr. Weider uses Radiesse because of its unique properties to stimulate collagen production and excellent longevity. Radiesse is comprised of calcium hydroxylapatite. The Radiesse dermal filler typically lasts for 12-18 months.
Botox
BOTOX Cosmetic: BOTOX Cosmetic is useful in the treatment of wrinkles in between the brows, on the forehead and around the eyes (crow’s feet). BOTOX Cosmetic has been used widely for over twenty years to treat a variety of conditions caused by hyperactive muscle activity. BOTOX Cosmetic blocks the release of acetylcholine, a substance that stimulates muscle contraction and causes wrinkle formation. As a result of Botox® treatment, the muscle contraction releases and temporarily reduces the appearance of the wrinkle. Dr. Weider uses BOTOX Cosmetic because of its reliability and results that last for three or more months.
Sculptra Aesthetic
Sculptra® Aesthetic: SculptraAesthetic is approved by the FDA as a treatment for the correction of shallow to deep nasolabial folds, contour deficiencies and other facial wrinkles. SculpraAesthetic works gradually and provides results that last two to four years. SculptraAesthetic stimulates the patient’s own collagen to grow resulting in a natural, youthful looking appearance without making it look like you have had work done. SculptraAesthetic is made from poly-L-lactic acid, which has been safely used for the past 25 years in resorbable stitches. It is biocompatible (a material that does not harm the body) and biodegradable (able to be broken down by the body).
